Swimming Assessments
If your child is new and aged 5-8yrs old and are uncertain that your child is ready for our summer program and would like to have an assessment done beforehand, please email our Registrar at [email protected].

What is the summer program?
​The summer is our fun full-time season. We start training May 1st throughout the summer and then depending on your child's successes, go all the way to Provincials.

• ​SWIMMING - we work on stroke development, technical improvement and competitive skills for all four strokes, dives, starts, turns and finishes. On weekends we compete in local swim meets within our region and on certain Wednesdays we have development meets for our newer swimmers. 
• WATER POLO - we work on technical improvement and competitive game skills. There will be scrimmages and tournaments.
• ARTISTIC SWIMMING - we work on technical improvement in our figures and routines. There will be water shows and competitions.

There will be opportunities for our members to build and strengthen friendships through a calendar of social events and fundraising activities.
We will also be participating in the Fraser South Regional Championships and some will continue to the BC Provincial Championships.​

Can I pay by installments?
We appreciate that paying all fees (registration, volunteer, fundraising, BCSSA insurance fee, team shirt) can be challenging. At checkout, you will have the option to pay the full amount or by installments.

When I apply with 2 or more children, I am charged additional volunteer fees. Volunteer fees is 1 per family. What do I do?
Please email the Registrar [email protected] for a code to use at checkout. Unfortunately, with the multiple offerings and family circumstances, the system cannot differentiate between the programs.

When I apply with 3 or more children, I am charged additional fundraising fees. Fundraising fees is to a maximum of 2 per family. What do I do?

I want to withdraw from the program?
Members can withdraw but registration fee refunds can only be done within the first 2 weeks to allow time to activate our waitlist. Sunfish is a non-profit organization that runs on a budget with a forecast of expected registrants. As such, there are no registration fee refunds after May 16, 2025. Registration fee refunds on or before May 16, 2025 will be prorated and subject to a $50 administration fee.  NOTE: BCSSA insurance fees are paid to BCSSA. These fees are non-refundable.

​NEW SUMMER MEMBER any child 9 years old and older who are new to the Sunfish summer program​ ​includes ALL 3 disciplines: swimming, water polo and artistic swimming fundraising fee is $100/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) ​volunteer requirement is 25 hours and $150 / family  (REFUNDABLE) ​​team shirt $15	$575 + $45 BCSSA Fee	OPEN
5-8 YEARS OLD FULL TIME PROGRAM MUST be a minimum of 5 years old at the start of the summer program  MUST be able to listen to instructions, have limited fear of getting into the water, swim 10m unassisted ​includes ALL 3 disciplines: swimming, water polo and artistic swimming fundraising fee is $100/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) ​volunteer requirement is 25 hours and $150 / family  (REFUNDABLE) ​​team shirt $15	​$575 + $45 BCSSA Fee	OPEN
5-7 YEARS OLD 3 DAYS A WEEK SWIM PROGRAM (Mon/Wed/Fri) MUST be a minimum of 5 years old at the start of the summer program  MUST be able to listen to instructions, have limited fear of getting into the water, swim 10m unassisted ​includes 3 PRACTICES for swimming (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays), Sunfish Development and Sunfish Invitational meets  fundraising fee is $50/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement is 12 hours and $75 / family  (REFUNDABLE) ​​team shirt $15	​$375 + $45 BCSSA Fee	OPEN
WATER POLO ONLY anyone interested to participate in water polo ONLY​ fundraising fee is $50/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement is 12 hours and  $75 / family   (REFUNDABLE)​ ​​team shirt $15	​$400 + $45 BCSSA Fee ​NOTE: If you are registered with another BCSSA swim club, please use the code "BCSSA2025" to ensure you do not pay BCSSA fee twice. ARTISTIC SWIMMING ONLY anyone interested to participate artistic swimming ONLY fundraising fee is $50/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement is 12 hours and $75 / family   (REFUNDABLE)​ ​​team shirt $15	​$250 + $45 BCSSA Fee ​NOTE: If you are registered with another BCSSA swim club, please use the code "BCSSA2025" to ensure you do not pay BCSSA fee twice. ALUMNI SWIMMING ONLY must be Grade 12 and up who were previous Sunfish members includes 2 days of swimming includes Sunfish Invitational meet but all other swim meets are invoiced separately according to meet fees  fundraising fee is $50/member (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement only if participating at swim meets ​​team shirt $15	$300 + $45 BCSSA Fee ​	OPEN
​O-Cat Members must be currently registered with a winter swim  club (provide Swimming Canada ID number) participates June 16th onwards includes ALL 3 disciplines: swimming, water polo and artistic swimming​ fundraising fee is $100/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement is 20 hours and $150/family (REFUNDABLE) ​​team shirt $15	$450+ $45 BCSSA Fee ​	OPEN
O-Cat Members (swim meets only) must be currently registered with a winter swim club (provide Swimming Canada ID number) and is wanting to continue in their competitive journey by participating in swim meets only participates in meets July 18th onwards participates in practices July 21st onwards (time for SF coaches to work with swimmers prior to Regionals and Provincials) swim meets (FS meets, FS Regionals and Provincials) will be invoiced separately according to meet packages​ fundraising fee is $50/member to a maximum of 2 children (REFUNDABLE) volunteer requirement is 12 hours and $75/family (REFUNDABLE) ​team shirt $15	$150 + $45 BCSSA Fee  + Meet Fees	OPEN

NOTES:

• To view the practice schedule, please refer to 2024 SUMMER SCHEDULE.
• Additional Fees: Volunteer and Fundraising fees will be refunded at end of season based on requirements being met. These fees will be included through Active at time of registration.
• ACTIVE fees is 3.9% on your transaction.
• Withdrawals will be subject to a $50 non-refundable administrative fee. Sunfish is a non-profit organization that runs on a budget with a forecast of expected registrants.
• Refunds (minus non-refundable administrative fee) will be processed as long as they are requested BEFORE May 16th.
• All Sunfish members and coaches need to declare all their sports, update registration and any applicable fees to the Registrar and President by the 2nd Thursday of July.
