WHAT IS ARTISTIC SWIMMING?
Artistic swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance, and gymnastics, consisting of swimmers performing a synchronized routine (either solo, duet, trio, mixed duet, free team, free combination, and highlight) of elaborate moves in the water accompanied by music.
This program encourages children, boys and girls, to enjoy movement in the water with a goal of developing the fundamental skills to enable participation in aquatic-based activities. The program consists of both swimming and technical skills.
Our club has been involved in the sport since the summer of 2015 and we have had teams that range in the ages of 7 to 16.
The coaches work hard at preparing routines and selecting fun music for each event. We are proud that we have had success by being on the podium both individually and as teams at the BCSSA Provincials!
And what if your child says they are afraid of competing? No worries, we also offer a recreation/fun program if your child isn't interested in competing but wants to try it. Our club is about having fun and exposing swimmers to this great sport.
